Product Powerpoint Presentation Protocol

Earlier this week I emailed you a Microsoft document to make a niche breakfast product.

Use your answers from the previous steps to make a powerpoint.
VIEW MY EXAMPLE PRESENTATION at FlipSnack.com/robaths/fu841slf )

In your presentation include the following 12 slides:
1) Product name and logo
2) Description of product and its ingredients – with photos
3) Description of product’s targeted niche market – with photos
4) Reasons for why this niche market is good for this product
5) State your product’s competitors – with pictures.
6) Explanation of how your product is different from competitors.
7) Advertisement  - (use advertisements in my earlier blog as an example)
Make sure you have some words about the product in the add.

You can use powerpoint to make an advertisement or these websites:

8) Description of why you made your poster advertisement how it does? Do you use a celebrity? Do you want to show it is healthy or quick or makes you feel something?
9) Description of where you will put your advertisements to reach the targeted niche market. What magazines? What websites? What TV shows? What locations?

10) Explain why you are putting these ads where you listed in previous slide.

11) Sales pitch to venture capitalist (include at least five persuasion expressions).
Why should he invest in your company? Give details (which you have mentioned earlier). An example in the textbook about StroopWaffles is on page 132.)

12) Team member names, ID#s, and Class number

WHEN YOU FINISH WITH YOUR POWERPOINT.
SAVE IT AS A PDF and UPLOAD IT TO FLIPSNACK.COM
EMAIL ME THE FLIPSNACK LINK.

DO NOT EMAIL a PPT or a PDF.

For those of you who finish early, you can then make an iMovie advertisement for you product. I put one that I made for my example product, CaroCoffEgg, on youtube.

Example Niche Marketing product assignment

Work in groups of three. Your company has developed a new breakfast product. Your team’s job is to find a niche market for the product and to persuade the company to focus on this niche. This is called pitching. Follow the steps.

Step 1: Choose a product. Here are some suggestions:
        Specialized Fruit drink
Breakfast bar with unique shape and ingredients
        A new food combination

        (your own idea) _______________

A 'carrot juice,' 'espresso,' 'raw egg' drink mix in a can.

Step 2: Describe your product. Make sure you answer:

What are the ingredients?

It is a drink that has carrot juice, coffee, and blended raw egg.

How does it taste (sweet, salty, sour etc.)?

It does not taste very good but it is very healthy. It is meant to be drank fast, like a medicine.

What does it look like?

It is brownish orange with chunks of yellow yolk. It looks like puke, which is why it comes in a 355ml can.

What existing products are your competitors?

Bottled Smoothies, V8, coffee, and eggs are all competitors.

How is it different from its competitors?

It comes in a can. It isn’t sweet. It is for the serious person who wants their vitamins quickly.

Step 3: Choose the best niche market for your product.
Make a list of the characteristics, groups, and types of people who probably want this product.

Body builders
Athletes
People who are in a hurry in the morning.

Why is your product important to your target customers? How can it help them?
Some people want to exercise first thing in morning but they don’t have time to prepare breakfast. If they eat a solid meal then it may feel uncomfortable in their stomach. Our product can help costumers who do not have much time and allow them to have the energy for a good morning workout.

Step 4: What is your product’s brand name?
+ + =
